Stop “engineering” and get to “creating”!
Our mission at American Automata Academy is to excite, inspire and motivate people about the fun, importance and impact of automata technology and their artistic attributes in today’s world. We hope to stimulate imagination and creativity by encouraging them to explore, experience and express themselves through our hands-on interactive automata program. Held in a friendly atmosphere, we focus on problem solving, creativity and fun. We will be working with LEGO gears of various sizes, wooden cams of different shapes, dowels for shafting and other parts that will enable them to safely create animated and exciting mechanical movements and other effects.
The marriage of LEGO’s sophisticated and powerful set of mechanical design components and the beauty of traditional wood materials will bring into being a new world of mechanical wonders.
At American Automata Academy, we can provide the guidance and confidence to build simple automata, as well as the inspiration for more complex automata.
A practice and discovery platform, The wooden framework and workings of our creation. Our red oak wood frame snaps together without glue. You can use as a prototype testing launch pad, recreate your project in whatever medium you desire, or “Leave well enough alone” and use the piece as is. The best thing of all is that you can start creating movements within minutes. Dimensions: 3 ¼“ (L), 6” (W), 6” (H).
